A new season...
I ironed Chris's clothes last night. Dress pants and a dress shirt. I can count of one hand the number of times I've ironed for either of us in the last 5 years. I have a feeling I'll be ironing on a regular basis for awhile.
At Jon and Jess's wedding - June, 2006
For the past 5 years our lives have been very flexible. Our first year of marriage Chris was in school and we both worked part time - me in the office at Wears Valley Ranch and Chris with the youth at our church. Right around when Chris finished school I started on my adventure with HisKdis Sports and Chris started his home repair/remodel business. Two and a half years ago Chris started taking classes to pursue a medical degree, and continued the home repair work. 6 months ago right around when we found out he was accepted to Seton Hall, HisKids Sports merged with World Orphans.
Working on the house in Maryville
All that to say, we've been working very hard but our schedules were flexible and work clothes were casual. I'll maintain a fair amount of flexibility and casual attire since I work from home, but today Chris dove into the world of schedules and professional attire. Orientation today and tomorrow and then he officially starts PA school on Monday.
Visiting Kari and Jonathan - France, December, 2006
We've been getting ready for this for awhile. We are so grateful that the Lord has brought us here and we look forward to seeing what He's going to do during these 3 years that Chris is in school. Thank you for walking with us.

I love this post. It's awesome to see how God has brought you here and to think of what lies ahead.
Plus, I love that a post that starts about Chris in big boy clothes ends with one of him in his 'skins' work attire. Classic.
Thanks for the update. We will keep you in our prayers as you learn all that your changes involve.

Hope Chris' first day went well! I think you need to do a follow up blog post once he gets settled into his new routine!
What? No picture of Chris in this professional attire? Maybe you can be a "good Mommy" and take a picture of him on his first day of school! :) That last picture looks like it was taken from the roof of your house? Makes me miss you!
I'm with LaDonna ... where's Chris's first day of school pics??? Looking forward to hearing how he settles into school :)) Love and miss you! Joy
Don't worry...I'll take a "first day of school" picture in his professional attire on Monday...his actual first day of school :)
Yes, LaDonna - that picture was when we rented the boom lift for Chris to trim the trees. We were way above the house!
Miss you all!
I too vote for a first day of school picture!!! I have one of his first days at Bougainvilles, the little French school he went to in Ivory Coast. He goes from cute to handsome in his school pictures.
thanks for the lovely update.
